The last rites of child artist Taruni Sachdev, who was among the 13 Indians who died in a plane crash in Nepal, were performed on Wednesday evening in Mumbai.

Her body was brought to Mumbai from Kathmandu through cargo at 3 p.m. along with her mother's body. The funeral took place at a cremation ground in Santa Cruz (West) at 5.30 p.m. Her mother was also cremated at the same time.

14 year old Taruni's family, friends and entire neighborhood was there to pay their respects to their favourite little star.

Taruni, who was on her way to Nepal for a pilgrimage with her mother, died when the aircraft, she was in, crashed into a hill while coming in to land at Jomsom in western Nepal. Her family and friends are still in state of shock

Taruni had acted in over 50 commercials and films including the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Paa. Big B, who played her school friend in Paa sent a personal letter of condolence to the bereaved family.
